FIELD: radio electronic equipment used for pulse emission source coordinates estimation; equipment is used in radio navigation, difference-range finding systems of position estimation, in systems of thunder storms positioning. SUBSTANCE: usage of the method of position estimation significantly decreases expenditures for pulse signal sources position estimation systems deployment due to decrease of number of observation points. To obtain coordinates of pulse signal source in point of two position lines crossing, besides registration reception moments by only two receiving points with known coordinates and determination of signals reception times differences in the points to create one of position lines - hyperbola, they exercise measurement of energy parameter U (for example, amplitude), that is monotonously varying with distance variation, that allows to produce second position line - ellipse, parameter of which is value equal to sum of distances R1 and R2 from reception points with known coordinates to source of pulse signal. Simple determination of required point is exercised by rough estimation of simple bearing from one of one of the points to the source. That allows to refuse from usage of third observation point, using which usually second position line - hyperbola - was calculated as line of constant difference of distances for next pair of receiving points.
