PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a hollow container excellent in gas barrier properties and transparency at the time of a falling impact or the like. SOLUTION: A soln. of a saponified ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer with ethylene content of 20-60mol% and a saponification value of 90mol% or more is applied to the outside surface of a parison and the coated parison is dried while horizontally rotated to form a saponified ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer layer and this parison is subjected to blow molding under heating.
