PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaning method for automobiles capable of removing the toxic components in the outdoor air and taking the air into the vehicle at the time of introducing the outdoor air into the vehicle. SOLUTION: The outdoor air is fed into a first column 30A packed with active carbon by a blower 14 and after NOx is adsorbed by the active carbon, the air is introduced into the vehicle room. The active carbon of a second column 30B on which the NOx is adsorbed by magnetron 44 is irradiated with microwaves, the NOx absorbed with the active carbon is converted to carbon dioxide and nitrogen and is desorbed from the active carbon. The NOx is adsorbed on the active carbon by again utilizing the second column 30B with which the desorption of the NOx is ended.
