PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a high activity zeolite catalyst with a metal oxide highly dispersed on the surface of the zeolite. SOLUTION: Zeolite is dried at 50-300 deg.C and brought into contact with titanium ethoxide. By this contact, the titanium ethoxide is hydrolyzed with the water of crystallization in the zeolite and water sticking to the surface of the zeolite and the resultant titania is carried on the surface of the zeolite.
