PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the concentration of glucose in blood with high accuracy under the state of whole blood by substituting the measurements of glucose concentration obtained from an unknown sample, respectively, by equilibrium point method and first order differential, and a previously calculated concentration function to a specific formula. SOLUTION: A butter and a sample are fed, respectively, through a pump 5 and a sampler 6 to a glucose concentration measuring cell 1 and stirred 3, 4. The moment of time when the sample is fed is set at 0 and the relationship between the output from a hydrogen peroxide electrode 2 fixed with glucose oxidase and the elapsed time is determined. Subsequently, the glucose concentrations EP, DI are determined, respectively, by equilibrium point method and first differential method. Measurements EP, DI obtained for various samples having known concentration are substituted in a formula of sample concentration GL=EP+a×(EP-DI) thus determining a glucose concentration function (a) previously. The function (a) and the measurements EP, DI obtained from an unknown sample are substituted in the formula thus determining the concentration GL. This method can measure the glucose concentration highly accurately under the state of whole blood regardless of elution from blood cell to buffer. |
