PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a color filter for a liquid crystal having flat surface. SOLUTION: This method for producing a color filter for a liquid crystal includes such processes that a black matrix 2 is formed on a light-transmitting substrate 1, on which a photosetting or thermosetting compsn. layer is formed, and then an ink is applied by using an ink-jet recording device to color the compsn. layer 3 on the openings of the black matrix 2. In this method, the thickness of the black matrix is preliminarily controlled considering the expansion height of the compsn. layer 3 to be colored by applying an ink. Thereby, the height of the surface of the compsn. layer on the black matrix is made equal to that of the surface of the colored compsn. layer on the openings. |
