TRANSLUCENT POLARIZING PLATE FOR DISPLAY DEVICE, ITS PRODUCTION AND DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a translucent polarizing plate which realizes a wide visual angle by forming a fine rugged pattern on the joining face of a polarizing plate where a light-reflecting and transmitting layer are stuck together and making both layers into one body. SOLUTION: Titanium dioxide-coated mica m is added to an org. solvent such as toluene and MEK while stirring and the mixture of the org. solvent and the titanium dioxide-coated mica m is added to the main agent of an adhesive to prepare a coating liquid. The obtd. coating liquid is applied on a translucent light-diffusing film 3. The coating film is dried to form a flexible light- reflecting and transmitting layer 2 which partly reflects light and partly transmits light on one surface of the light-diffusing film 3. Then a polarizing plate 1 is prepared and one surface of the plate is roughened to form a fine rugged pattern by a proper means such as sand matting or embossing process. Then the surface 1a of the polarizing plate 1 where the fine rugged pattern is formed is adhered to the light-reflecting and transmitting layer 2 under pressure by a proper means. Further, a release film 5 is laminated.
