<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointing device which is attached to the enclosure of a personal computer without a gap between them and is free from a break of operation even in the case that the attachment space is limited and the tablet sheet of the operation face is narrow. SOLUTION: Cursor control data is generated based on relative position data of a press position xn , yn to a reference position x0 , y0 as the fixed position. Since relative position data indicates the distance and the direction of the press position from the reference position, cursor control data is outputted to a personal computer 1 to control the movement of the cursor only by changing the press position in the periphery of the reference position. Consequently, the operation is not broken even if a tablet sheet 11 is narrow, and the periphery of the tablet sheet 11 is closely attached to the enclosure not to form a gap between this sheet and the enclosure.</p> |
