PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent soiling inside the machine and image noise such as surface fogging by preventing a developer discharged from a contact electrifying means at the time when an image carrier is stopped from remaining on the image carrier from the contact electrifying means and a cleaning and developing means. SOLUTION: A voltage obtained by switching a direct current or superimposing an AC component on a DC voltage is applied to the contact electrifying means 3 for the time needed at least for moving the image carrier 2 at a part facing the contact electrifying means 3 up to a position facing the cleaning and developing means 4, before the image carrier 2 is stopped. |
