PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic musical instrument capable of semiautomatic musical performance in synchronism with the rhythmical operation of a person and a thing. SOLUTION: This electronic musical instrument is provided with detection means 7, 9, 10, 11 for detecting the rhythmical operation of, for instance, a baton 6 or the operation of a foot-switch 8 to generate a timing signal and has a semiautomatic musical performance function of generating a musical sound signal on the basis of musical performance data stored in synchronism with the timing signal. With such constitution, semiautomatic musical performance can be performed in synchronism with, for instance, beating time with the hand, the rhythmical operation of the body, the movement of a baton or the like, and a musical performance can be more easily synchronized and at the same time a semiautomatic musical performance can be controlled without exciting observation. |
