PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the toner density in a developing unit, and to stabilize the image density, by processing various factor fluctuation concerning the image density in electrophotographic process altogether. SOLUTION: The toner sticking amount to a test toner image formed on a photoreceptor drum 21 under the specific image forming condition is detected by an AIDC sensor 51, and the toner is fed to the developing unit 23 based on the detected value. At the same time, the toner density is detected by the ATDC sensor 54 provided in the developing unit 23. The detected toner density is corrected based on information such as humidity and the number of copies, applying fuzzy inference or a neural network. Based on the corrected toner density, the electrophotographic process (electrification potential, developing bias voltage and image exposing quantity) is respectively controlled. |
