The support post (10) for a fencing panel comprises a vertical upright (12) which extends above an alignment of separate concrete blocks (24). The upright is positioned between two blocks and clamped by two flanges (16,38). Each flange is formed by a shaped metal section and each is supported laterally either side of the blocks. The flanges are fixed by a tie rod (42) which is placed transversely in the gap separating two blocks and connected the flanges. The tie rod, which comprises a threaded rod (44) is clamped by screwing nuts (46,48) onto the rod either side each flange. An L shaped corner piece (22) has one web (22A) fixed to the upright and its other web (22B) extending perpendicular to the upright forming a support surface on the block upper face (30). The support post can be fixed to concrete blocks which do not have conduits passing through them.
