PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnet roll with which good electrostatic charge is obtainable in spite of a reduction in the size of the magnetic roll and the contact region of particle charging agents is obtainable without inducing an abnormal decrease. SOLUTION: The magnet roll for electrostatic charge for magnetically holding the particle charging agents is provided with at least three peaks of the magnetic force in the normal directions of the plural magnetic pole P1 (main pole for electrostatic charge) P2 (supply pole) and P3 (circulating pole) of the roll. The max. values of these main three peaks exist within the same semicircle and the various magnitude relation of the magnetic force in the normal directions of the respective peaks is specified to|P1|>P2|>=|P3|.
