<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the setup of a connector and facilitate the tackling to automatic assembly by equipping a connector with a housing which holds a contact assembly and a contact subassembly. SOLUTION: A connector 1 comprises a contact subassembly 2 and a housing. The contact subassembly 2 comprises a plurality of contacts 4 and a retaining member 5. The setup of the connector 1 is performed as follows to begin with, three pieces of contact assemblies 2 are put together into one, and between the fellow adjacent retaining members 5, the recesses 50 for engagement and the projections 51 for engagement are engaged with each other, whereby three pieces of contact assemblies 2 are united. Next, the united three pieces of contact assemblies 2 are incorporated into the housing 3 so that the contact 4 may be inserted into the contact retaining hole 31 and that the retaining member 5 may be done into a storage 30. Hereby, the recess 50 for engagement and the projection 51 for engagement of the retaining member at both ends engage with the projection 33 for engagement and the recess 32 for engagement of the housing 3.</p> |
