PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery capacity meter by which the residual capacity and the charging amount of a battery can be confirmed by a configuration wherein a chargeable absolute capacity and a chargeable absolute capacity at a battery temperature in a charging operation are displayed. SOLUTION: In a charging operation, a charger 3 is connected to a battery 1. A current sensor 4 detects the charging and discharge current (i) of the battery 1, and a temperature sensor 5 detects the temperature T of the battery 1. A controller 6 is constituted of a microcomputer and of peripheral components. It computes the absolute value of the chargeable and dischargeable capacity of the battery 1 on the basis of the current (i) and the temperature T which are detected by the sensors 4, 5. It drives and controls a display part 7 according to a computed result. The display part 7 is provided with a display 7a which is composed of a plurality of display segments and with an indicator light 7b. The display 7a displays the chargeable absolute capacity of the battery 1, and the indicator light 7b displays the completion of a charging operation up to a fully chargeable capacity at the battery temperature T in the charging operation. Consequently, while the battery is being used, the residual capacity of the battery can be confirmed, and, in the charging operation, the completion up to the fully chargeable capacity can be confirmed. |
