<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the information processor which provides intuitive operation for a user by accurately detecting a human finger fast and applying it to a man-machine interface. SOLUTION: A hand area segmentation part 103 cuts the area of a hand out of an image which is photographed by a video camera 101 and stored in an image buffer 102, and a preprocessing part 104 decides whether or not the cut area is in a shape to be recognized. Then a Hough transformation part 105 performs Hough transformation for the cut hand area and detects straight lines. Then a finger detection part 106 puts straight lines which are close in distance together, decides the number of remaining straight lines as the number of fingers, and then decides one of both end points of the detected straight lines as finger tips. An operation decision part 107 determines operation to a computer according to the number of the fingers and finger tip coordinates obtained by a finger detection part 106. The human fingers can accurately be detected fast, so intuitive operation can be provided for a user.</p> |
