PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for coping with such case that an open/close cover where a printing means is arranged has not been perfectly closed, to improve the certainly of printing operation performed by a printing means with respect to a document by using the means, and to prevent the document from being damaged at the time when the open/close cover has not been perfect ly closed. SOLUTION: When a main controlling part (not shown in the figure) starts carrying the document from a document table after a printing mode is set, if the control part judges that the open/close cover 63 is on a non-closing position according to a detection signal from a cover detecting sensor 65, the printing mode is canceled and a non-printing mode is set as an operating mode, so that the printing mode is continued and the document is prevented from being stopped once at a marking position where a stamp 50 prints 'Finished' mark even though the stamp 50 is at a position where printing can not be performed, and carrying time from carrying start to discharging is prevented from being prolonged by wasteful stopping. |
