PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality by eliminating difference between original image signals and emission luminance. SOLUTION: In a display device 10 which displays a multi-gradation image by a signal processing by a subfield drive method (for example, an ADS/subfield method), a correction circuit 20 for correcting original image signals before signal processing (before signal conversion) by the subfield drive method is provided and this correction circuit 20 is provided with a frame memory 24 for delaying the original image signal by one frame, a correcting constant set circuit 26 for setting and outputting the correction data which eliminates the difference between the original image signals and emission luminance of each picture element, which is caused by the subfield drive method, based on the original signals and output signals of the frame memory 24, and an addition circuit 28 which adds the original image signals to the correction data output by this set circuit 26 so as to set it as the image signal to the display device 10, and the difference between the original image signals and the emission luminance is eliminated by the correction circuit 20 so as to remove distortion (a false outline) of the moving image. |
