PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an automatic sorting apparatus in which it is not required to use a disk whose electric insulating property is required when the electric characteristic of a chip-shaped electronic component is measured, whose costs are lowered consequently, which enhances the production efficiency of the chip- shaped electronic component and whose operating expenses are lowered. SOLUTION: Chip-shaped resistors as chip-shaped electronic components are conveyed linearly and continuously along a conveyance passage 6. The chip-shaped resistors which have been conveyed are separated one by one by a separation means 15. The resistance value as the electric characteristic of every separated chip-shaped resistor is measured by a measuring means 16. On the basis of a measured result, good chip-shaped resistors and defective chip-shaped resistors are sorted by a sorting means 17. As required, the measured chip-shaped resistors are measured and sorted again by a measuring means 18 and a sorting means 19. Since the chip-shaped resistors are separated while conveyed linearly so as to measure their resistance value, it is not required to use a disk whose electric insulating propery is required. |
