REFLECTION TYPE POLARIZER AND SPECTROPHOTOMETER USING SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spectrophotometer of new constitution which can reduce the number of components. SOLUTION: Incident light (infrared rays) has its optical path changed by a plane mirror 20 and is made to irradiate a sample 22 obliquely while converged by a concave mirror 21. Light emitted by the sample has its optical path changed while made into parallel luminous flux by a concave mirror 23 to irradiate the reflection type polarizer 24. Then the light is reflected by the reflection type polarizer 24 to emit linearly polarized light in a specific direction. This reflection type polarizer 24 has one optical component reduced since the polarizer and plane mirror are constituted in one body. The cost is therefore reduced by decreasing the number of components.
