The attachment consists of an outer tube which is able to slide relative to an inner cylinder attached to one end of the spectacle cord (6). The cylinder has an annular groove and a hook-shaped end to receive two anti-slip seal rings (7, 8), one of which keeps the tube in place over the cylinder and the other connects with the spectacle frame side-piece (9). The tube measures, for example, 15 mm long by 4 mm diameter. The attachment is easily fitted by passing the seal ring (8) over the sidepiece (9) and pushing the tube over the inner cylinder while holding the cord with the other hand.
