PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve a tomographic image including desired abnormality in a short time from a large number of tomographic images. SOLUTION: The large number of tomographic images are stored in an image storage part 1; when a desired patient is specified through an indication input part 2, an abnormal position reference image generation part (body outline image generating means) 14 generates a body outline image and displays it at a display part 3. A doctor specifies the position of an abnormal area in the displayed body outline image and then an abnormal area determination part 11 selects a tomographic image corresponding to the specification and displays it at the display part 3.
