<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record, a reproduce and edit plural video signals independently by synchronizing output signals from the 1st and the 2nd digital time compressor/decoder with each other so as not to overlap with each other. SOLUTION: A 1st video signal is given to the 1st digital time compressor/ decoder 100, in which the signal is compressed on a time base and converted into a signal able to be recorded on a magnetic tape, and the resulting signal is given to the 1st and the 2nd channel heads 170, 180 depending on a switching state of the 2nd switch section 160 when the 1st switch section 150 is thrown to a 'high' position. On the other hand, a 2nd video signal is given to the 2nd digital time compressor/decoder 110, in which the signal is compressed, and a synchronization section 120 synchronizes the 2nd video signal so as to avoid overlapping of the 1st and 2nd video signals in response to a synchronization request signal from the 1st digital time compressor/decoder 100. Then the 2nd video signal is given to a 2nd recording/reproducing circuit 140 and given to the 1st or 2nd channel head 170 or 170 when the 1st switch section 150 is thrown to a 'low' position.</p> |
