PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat fluorescent lamp drive device capable of instantaneously lighting a flat fluorescent lamp and obtaining uniform surface luminescence. SOLUTION: A cathode 22 and an anode 21 are faced and arranged in an substantially flat luminescent space, and a conductive film 23 is stuck to a portion corresponding to the cathode 22 on the outer surface to constitute a drive device for lighting a flat fluorescent lamp. The drive device has an inverter transformer T, each end of the secondary winding of the inverter transformer T is connected to the anode 21 and the cathode 22 respectively, and a means for simultaneously applying positive and negative pulse voltage between both electrodes is arranged. The conductive film 23 is grounded, and a wire branched from between the secondary winding is also grounded. |
