PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an efficient distribution means resistant to the occurrence of a fault for setup, separation and update of connection in a communication network. SOLUTION: A connection path is calculated, plural reservation requests are sent simultaneously to each of a couple of nodes in the connection path via plural individual channels, and whether or not a connection resource is available is discriminated and reserved. Upon the receipt of an affirmative acknowledge denoting that the connection link is available an has already been reserved, a setup message is sequentially sent between adjacent nodes along with the path till the setup message reaches a destination node. Then a switch in each node replies the setup message to set up the connection to set up the connection.
