A roadable semitrailer (12) made up of individual trailer units (14) each having a frame (16) supported on spaced apart road wheels (26) and a towbar (36) for towing each trailer as a separate unit. Each towbar is connected to a trailer frame (16) by opposed brace members (58, 60) which may be reconnected to the towbar at spaced apart points (48, 50, 52) to provide for moving the towbar between a substantially normal working position with respect to the axis of rotation of the wheels and an inclined working position for connection to a dual coupler (56) for operating the trailer units side by side as a dual trailer. Transverse removable beams (112) are adapted to interconnect the frames of each trailer unit when the units are disposed side by side. The trailer is particularly useful for transporting plural recreational vehicles such as personal watercraft, snowmobiles, or motorcycles.
