PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxide superconductor easily worked into a wire rod or the like and to provide a compound superconducting wire by using this oxide superconductor, by charging inside a sheath material with raw material to perform regressive working, and applying heat treating to this sheath material. SOLUTION: A material 2 of forming an oxide superconductor is buried inside a sheath material 3. The sheath material 3, having low electric resistance to be excellent in heat conductivity, is suited. This sheath material 3 serves as a stabilizer material in the case of forming a superconducting wire. Next extruding a member obtained by burying the sheath material, regressive working is applied by a method of swaging, wire drawing, etc., to obtain a wire rod of desired diameter. Next applying heat treating to a member of applying the regressive working, a compound superconductor 1, connecting the material 2 with which inside the sheath material 3 is charged, is obtained. This heat treating temperature can be suitably set so as to form the oxide superconductor, but a melting point of the sheath material is substantially an upper limit temperature. In this process, for preventing diffusing oxygen or the like from a material side, a barrier material also can be interposed between the sheath material and the raw material. |
