A soup mix in the form of a water-inoil emulsion comprises an edible fat, water, an emulsifier and a flavouring agent. The mix may contain a preservative such as sorbic acid, benzoic acid and sodium benzoate. The mix may be in the solid state. The mix may comprise non ionic hydrophilic and lipophilic emulsifiers, beeswax, carnauba wax, candelilla wax, salt, pepper, sugar, dehydrated onion, celery derivatives, tomato juice, apple juice, paprika, protein hydrosylates and autolysates, dehydrated parsley, corn oil, cotton seed oil, safflower seed oil, soy bean oil, chicken fat, pork fat, beef fat, monoglycerides and colouring agents. |
