<p>A power source (10), inductor (12) and clamping device (16) coupled to generate substantially sinusoidal drive pulses. The power source (10) has an output capacitance (20). The inductor (12) is connected to the power source (10) and to the load (19) to be driven. In combination with the inductor (12), the output capacitance (20) of the power source (10) and the input capacitance (22) of the load to be driven (19) create a resonant circuit which generates a stream of substantially sinusoidal pulses. A clamping device (16) is connected to the inductor (12) and prevents the stream of pulses which are driving the load (14) from exceeding a clamping level. In one preferred embodiment, a complementary set of clamping devices (36 and 38) and inductors (32 and 34) are used to generate a complementary set of pulse streams.
