The invention concerns multilayer composite films comprising a film or film combination (A) made up of plastic and/or metal layers in any order, having an at least 10 .mu.m thick biaxially oriented heat-sealing layer (C), made for the greater part of polyethylene homopolymers or copolymers, which is joined to the film or film combination (A) by an adhesive or other joining layer (B).
