Access to facilities such a swimming bath or sports facility requires that individuals are identified. The system uses a key that has a standard coded section [4] that engages the lock mechanism. Built into the grip section [2] is a retaining latch for an element [1] that has coded identification that can be accessed either mechanically or electrically to enable the key to be turned in the lock. An actuator pin [3] is set into the key. The control element can be coin shaped or some other shape.
