Collection system having one or more filler hoses (5) connected to a filler cut-out (4) on the down pipe (3). The hoses lead to the rain butts (6) and are connected to them by filler stops (7) such that, on attaining the desired water level in the rain butt, a further inflow of water from the hoses is interrupted. The cut-out on the down pipe is positioned higher than the highest possible level of the water in the rain butts. The filler stop is formed by a float controlled check valve. A movable seal bearing may be situated in a valve housing (8), between the housing inlet (12) and outlet (14).
