HEAT-INSULATING STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

A heat-insulating structure comprising a heat insulating body, such as of glass wool, covered with a polymer film bonded. A part or the whole of a central region of a polymer film (3b) flowing on a conveyor, and inner and outer portions (d, e) of both regions thereof are coated with hot-melt materials (4, 5, 6) and glass wool (2) is placed on the central region. An upper surface of the resultant glass wool is coated with a hot-melt material (7), and this hot-melt layer is covered with a polymer film (3a) metallized with aluminum. On a downstream portion of the conveyor, both end regions of the lower polymer film (3b) are folded at the parts thereof which are between the inner and outer portions (d, e) thereof to form three-layer sections laminated under pressure and hardened by cooling to normal temperature, whereby the mentioned structure is obtained. This method of manufacture realizes high productivity and a high bond strength of the product.
