<p>An actuator (1) comprising a ram (2) with first and second pistons (5, 6) engaging a control rod (9), particularly for rotating the shaft of a fraction-of-a-turn plumbing device. The springs usually engage the piston on one side and the frame or a fixed part on the other. The whole assembly is therefore relatively bulky. In addition, as the springs engage a fixed part on one side and a moving part on the other, the energy is only partially recovered. Said actuator is characterised in that energy storage cartridges and/or damping members (26) are placed between the pistons (5, 6) and engage the first piston (5) on one side and the second piston (6) on the opposite side.</p> |
