Device for the qualitative analysis of >= 1 chemical or biological analyte by detection of >= 1 reaction prod. comprises a reagent storage vessel (1) connected via a tube (2) to a section T-section (3) from which a second tube (4) leads to a manually-operated or motor-driven device for sucking up and removing liquids (5), whilst a third tube (6) leads to a three-way connector (7) linked to two tubes (8,9) for the sample (10) and measuring cell (11). Reaction and/or detection takes place in the cell from which a further tube (12) leads to a waste vessel (13). Barrier valves (14-17) ensure that only one of the tubes in each pair (2,6;8,9) is open at one time.
