A device is attached to the drive shaft (10) which counteracts collapse of the shaft during deformation of the resilient element (12). The device comprises a sleeve (20) which envelops the resilient element (12) and is supported on both sides of the drive shaft (10). The sleeve is fixed on the shaft on one side of the resilient element, has a wider section (24) covering the latter, and then changes into a narrow support section (26). USE/ADVANTAGE - Motor vehicles. Deformation characteristics are improved.
