Cold-forming process esp. for screw driver bits of cross slot form or similar from a cut-to-length bar blank, whereby a hexagon head is formed at one end of a round bar blank and the opposite end is then placed axially spring supported in the free space between several die segments and the cross slot (or similar) profile is formed by concentric closing of the die segments.
