The seal is for a folding sunroof whose outer cover (16), in the sunroof closed position, lies on a seal attached to a frame (7) fixed to the bodywork. The seal has a lip (13), which when closed lies elastically against the outer cover. Thus the lip, together with the front region of the seal, forms a storage and diversion channel (18). The lip rests on the top of the roof (15), thus preventing water penetrating between the roof and the frame into the vehicle.
