An integrated circuit cross point switch for serial digital data comprises a plurality of connection points (X1 - X4, Y1 - Y4) arranged to be connected to a plurality of external transmission lines. A bidirectional differential interconnection matrix (41) is provided, operable to interconnect selected ones of the interconnection points. A control load register (42) receives digital signals defining the required interconnections to be provided by the interconnection matrix (41) and these signals are loaded into a control storage register (43). Decode and control logic (44) is provided to respond to the signals stored in the control storage register (43) to apply control signals to the interconnection matrix (41) to produce the required interconnections. |
