EPITAXIALLY LAYERED STRUCTURE

A structure comprising one substrate and at least one layer of conformationally adaptive molecules is described. With the layer of conformationally adaptive molecules it is possible to grow epitaxial layers to large extent irrespective of a lattice mismatch between substrate and grown layer. Either the layer of conformationally adaptive molecules on the substrate constitutes already a device by an appropriate selection or design of the substrate and the molecules, or the layer of conformationally adaptive molecules is used as intermediate layer to accommodate a lattice mismatch between the substrate and a further layer.
