The body structure of a railway vehicle suspended by a pair of bogie trucks 4, Fig. 1, from a railway track 1, Fig. 2, having lower running surfaces 6 and guide surfaces 10, comprises two separate parts, viz. a stress-resisting beam 11 and a body proper 12, the beam being constituted by a pair of longitudinal parallel members 14, 15 connected by cross-members 16 and detachably secured to the body proper at the roof level thereof, the beam 11 also carrying the pendular suspension means 3 between the body and the trucks and also, at each end, the buffer and coupling means 13. The beam 11 carries mechanical, electrical and pneumatic equipments of the vehicle together with air-conditioning and heating equipments. Specifications 741,830 and 918,203 are referred to. |
