A torch magnifier having a tubular handle M with a conical hood A attached at one end thereof, the hood containing a magnifying lens C at one end and having an interior surface which reflects light from the torch bulb E through the other end of the hood on to an object to be viewed, is provided with a detachable adaptor which includes a support for a photographic transparency. The adaptor comprises a circular plastics plate P having a casing R secured thereto. The plate P has ribs which can be sprung into the open end of the hood, and the casing R has a translucent platform Q between which platform and the plate a slide can be inserted. The casing R contains a second lamp bulb S, which, upon attachment of the adaptor, is connected to the bulb E so as to be in series therewith. |
