<p>A protective coating for electronic assemblies (13) on a printed circuit board (9) is produced by a plastic film (16) (which is prefabricated and is rolled to form a carrier strip (1) of predetermined thickness) is changed into a shape corresponding to the surface to be protected by, for example, stamping the shape out or cutting it with a water jet, possibly leaving free openings (10) for components (14) which remain free. The film (16) is placed onto the printed circuit board (9) and, after softening, is pressed against the electronic assemblies (13) by means of a silicon tamping device (dabber) (17) so that a tightly fitting topography is produced. The film (16) is finally melted onto the printed circuit board (9). The original material is a mixture of a thermoplastic synthetic material having a wax with a high proportion of branched-chain and cycloaliphatic hydrocarbons. <IMAGE></p> |
