PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine for direct sowing of rice on a flooded paddy field, capable of properly carrying out soil covering after seeding irrespective of partial hardness of a paddy field. SOLUTION: A seeding system for sending seeds stored in a hopper by a feeding mechanism, releasing the seeds to a furrow of a field face P formed by a furrow opener and covering soil by back filling through a soil covering tool 17 forced downward by an energizing mechanism 52 is constituted. A control mechanism B for independently controlling forces of the adjoining energizing mechanisms 52 in the right and left direction of each energizing mechanism 52 is installed correspondingly to the adjoining energizing mechanism. The control mechanism B is equipped with a measuring mechanism for measuring hardness of the field surface P and with a control means to be operated based on the measured result of the measuring mechanism.
