PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance production efficiency by producing quality products with a good yield without requiring skillfulness and without making adjusting operation even when a speed change is to be made in case a motor is driven with a constant tensile torque with no use of any tension sensor. SOLUTION: A speed control part 6 emits a torque reference a5 upon comparing a sensed speed value all of a motor 2 with the speed reference a3, and current control means 8-11 supply a current complying with the torque reference a5 to the motor 2 for generating a tension and drive a roll 3 for transporting a band-shaped material 4. Acceleration/deceleration torque a14 and mechanical loss torque a16 emitted from compensative torque sensing means 17, 18 on the basis of the sensed speed value all are subtracted from the torque reference a5 so as to determine a tensile torque a16, while a torque correcting means 19 emits a speed correct signal a17 so as to nullify the deviation of the tensile torque a16 from its reference value a12 and corrects the speed reference a3 and also corrects the torque reference a5 so that such a control is made as to maintain a tension complying with the tensile torque reference a12 even with varying speed. |
