<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To respectively measure backlashes of meshing parts of internal and external teeth of a ring gear of a valve timing control device. SOLUTION: Air having high pressure force is supplied to a delay angle side oil pressure chamber 20, and a ring gear 18 is pressed to an inside bottom surface of a cover, and the ring gear 18 and the cover are integrally formed. Next, a timing pulley 5 is fixed by a clamp 26a, and a camshaft 1 is rotated in the reciprocally rotating direction around its axis by constant measuring torque. At this time, a rotation quantity allowed to the camshaft 1 is set as a backlash quantity in inner circumferential teeth of the ring gear 18. Air having low pressure force is supplied to a delay angle control chamber 20, and the camshaft 1 is rotated, and the ring of backlashes of both of inner and outer peripheral teeth of the ring gear 18 is measured from the rotation quantity of the camshaft 1 at this time. A backlash of outer peripheral teeth of the ring gear 18 is measured by a difference from the backlash quantity of the inner circumferential teeth of the ring gear 18.</p> |
