PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an arbitrary transfer shape merely by altering the setting by forming an optical diffraction layer releasably provided on a base material sheet, and a mark for indicating the position of the lengthy direction of the sheet. SOLUTION: A hologram mark 1, a shielding mark 2 for shielding a light and a reflection mark 3 for reflecting the light are provided on the mark part 5a of the side end of a transfer sheet. The sheet and a sheet to be transferred are transferred by transfer means, the mark is detected by mark detecting means. When the detecting means outputs a mark detection signal, the transfer means is controlled by transfer control means, and the heating of a thermal head is controlled by heat control means. The mark may include, in addition to the mark, a magnetic mark recorded on a magnetic material, a through hole formed at the sheet, or a mechanical mark of a cutout. |
