PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate observing an observing object region by reducing a light quantity of the reflected light from scleral of eye to be examined as much as possible without adding any new optical element. SOLUTION: This microscope is provided with an illumination optical system 1 forming an illumination path to illuminate an eye to be examined 2, an observation optical system 3 forming at least a pair of observation optical paths 10, 11 including a variable power system 12, and an objective lens 4 which is arranged opposite to the eye to be examined 2 and is used at least commonly to a pair of observation paths 10, 11 and the illumination path. And the illumination optical system is provided with an exit pupil 9a arranged in the neighborhood of a pair of the observation optical paths 10, 11, and the exit pupil 9a has a shape of an approximate rectangle, of which the long side 9b is in parallel with the extending direction of the line segment 23 connecting the optical path centers of the pair of the observation paths, 10, 11, and the length of the short side 9c is within a range of 7 to 9mm. |
