PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam sterilizer capable of surely excluding the erroenous detection of a water level even when water is introduced in a chamber from the beginning due to an uncertain reason, etc. SOLUTION: This steam steilizer provided with the chamber which houses an object to be sterilized and provided with a heater 4 on its inner bottom, a reservoir tank which reservoirs the water to be infected in the chamber, a water feed tube which communicates the reservoir tank with the chamber, and a valve 7 which opens/closes the water feed tube is provided with a water level detector 3 which detects the water level of the water injected in the chamber, a timer 11 which measures a prescribed time set in advance, and a control part 10 which closes the valve 7 when a prescribed water level is detected by the water level detector 3, and starts measurement for the prescribed time by the timer 11, and starts heating by the heater 4 when the prescribed time is detected and the prescribed water level is detected again by the water level detector 3. |
