THERMAL STORAGE MEDIUM COMPOSITION AND AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a thermal storage medium composition to be immersed in a thermal storage tank of an air-conditioning system. SOLUTION: This thermal storage medium composition is obtained by blending an oily gel substance (X) prepared by including an oily substance (e.g. a petroleum paraffin wax) having the thermal storage properties by the phase change of the liquid phase/solid phase in an oily gel-forming agent (X-I) with an aqueous gel substance (Y). The oily gel-forming agent (X-I) comprises an oily gelling agent (e.g. a styrene-butadiene copolymer) and/or an oil absorbing resin [e.g. Oleosorb (R)] and the aqueous gel substance (Y) is obtained by including an aqueous liquid (e.g. water) in an aqueous gel-forming agent [e.g. Aqualic (R)]. The oily gel-forming agent (X-I) accounts for 4-20 pts.wt. of 100 pts.wt. oily gel substance (X) and a carburant oily substance accounts for 80-96 pts.wt. of 100 pts.wt. oily gel substance (X). Thereby, the thermal storage composition manifests characteristics of (1) no manifestation of the fluidity without any fear of leakage even by repetitively using the thermal storage medium; (2) no separation of the oily phase/aqueous phase and (3) no inflammability.
